Treading lightly at Scifest Africa 2015
17th March 2015

Environmental concerns are a constant nag to us all. But what are we doing about it? The Faculty of Pharmacy at Rhodes University finds out how our carbon footprint affects us, especially our health.

The exhibition, ‘My environment, my health’, is on display and open for public participation every day and all day during Scifest 2015!

The exhibition focuses on one simple fact and one simply apt solution: make consciously smaller carbon footprints to conserve our resources – we have only one planet to share.

The stall also encourages active participation through an interactive quiz designed to test knowledge about the negative impacts we currently have and how we can change those into greener impacts. Learners can enjoy the vibrant atmosphere and interactive experience of leaning from passionate and professional students.

They dare us to take up their challenge and find out how many South Africas we will need if we continue living our current lifestyle. They dare us to find out how many planet Earths we will need at our current rate of resource consumption. They dare us to take up the challenge of ‘being green and treading lightly’ this year, at Scifest 2015’s Year of the Light.
