DESCRIPTION:The 2019 festival will take place in Grahamstown\, Eastern Cape from 6-12 March. \nThe theme “Discover your element” celebrates the International Year of the Periodic Table of Chemical Elements as proclaimed by the United Nations. The theme also celebrates several anniversaries in the history of chemistry including the 150th anniversary of the periodic table’s creation by Dmitry Mendeleev in 1869\, 350 years since the discovery of phosphorus\, the categorisation of 33 elements in 1789 by Lavoisier’s\, and Döbereiner’s law of the triads in 1829. \nScifest Africa was established by the Grahamstown Foundation in 1996 to: \n\npromote the public awareness\,\nunderstanding and appreciation of science\, technology and innovation in South Africa.

DESCRIPTION:Tickets to sought-after shows on the Main programme at this year’s National Arts Festival will be on sale before bookings officially open on 7 May. \nFrom 2 April\, we will be giving you a taste of some of what will be on offer in Grahamstown between 28 June and 8 July by releasing tickets to some must-see shows – music\, dance and theatre. Stay tuned to our social media platforms for details. \nThe full programme will be online at the end of April\, with a limited number of printed programmes available from 21 May at selected theatres as well as some branches of Standard Bank and Exclusive Books around the country. \nAll ticket bookings can be done on this website\, or through the Festival Box Office on 0860 002 004. Tickets range from R20 to R150\, with discounts for block bookings (more than 10 tickets) on selected shows. Concession tickets are available for pensioners\, students and learners on selected shows. You can pay by credit card\, EFT or SnapScan.
